Every app covered on playepix.com is installed and tested on real phones before its download information is published. The reviewer works through the same checks in the same order for every version, so reviews can be compared fairly.
The checks are: clean install from the package file and first launch behaviour; movie and series discovery, search quality, and recommendations; watchlist and episode tracking accuracy; trailer playback; permissions requested and how they compare with what the app does; and performance, battery, and storage behaviour during normal use. When a new version lands, the checks run again before the listing is updated.
Test phones: Samsung Galaxy A55 (Android 15); Google Pixel 8 (Android 16); Redmi Note 13 Pro (Android 14); Infinix Note 40 Pro (Android 14); Samsung Galaxy A13 (Android 12).
File facts such as version, size, and Android requirement are taken from the package and the app information, never from a press release alone. Findings are written from hands on testing, and a listing is corrected whenever testing shows the published information is wrong.
